Having recently been sworn in as a New York Republican congressman in January, Rep. George Santos has found himself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons (or maybe the right ones). Many recent revelations about him imply that anyone could technically be elected to any position without telling the truth.

He falselyclaims to have attended Baruch College on a volleyball scholarship.

    A volleyball player

He falselyclaimed to have been a volleyball star in college.

Rep. George Santos as Brazilian Drag Queen Kitara Ravache

It was discovered (and Santos falselydenied) that he dressed in drag and performed under the name Kitara Ravache more than a decade ago when he lived in Brazil.

A graphic about caron capture technology

Santos falselyclaimed to have helped invent carbon capture technology.

    A Brazilian police officer

Santos falselyclaimed he was not subject to criminal investigation in Brazil. In fact, Brazilian authorities say he is wanted by authorities after disappearing after being found guilty of fraud.

    Donation jar

A military veteran in New Jersey claims that Santos took donations for the veteran's pitbull dog that was in need of surgery to remove a tumor from the animal's abdomen but absconded with the funds leaving the owner without the ability to pay, and the dog left to die which it eventually did.

    Railway tracks

Santos falselyclaimed to be the descendent of Ukrainian Jewish refugees from Belgium who survived the Holocaust.

An Istaeli flag surrounded by U.S. flags.

Santos falselyclaimed to be Jewish at multiple public appearances. After admitting that he was Catholic, Santos said he never claimed to be Jewish but rather "Jew-ish."

    The Twin Towers

Santos falsely claimed that his mother died as a result of the 9/11 terror attacks and that she was at her desk in the south tower of the World Trade Center that day. In reality, his mother was in Brazil, U.S. immigration records showed.

    Menacing criminals in masks.

Santos falsely claimed that he'd been the victim of several crimes. At one point he said he was robbed on the way to pay his rent. Another time he claimed to have been mugged on 5th Avenue in broad daylight and robbed of his shoes.

A point of sale reader with a receipt forming a dollar sign coming out.

Santos has some serious financial explaining to do. Some of the documents he had to file with the Federal Elections Commission contain suspicious expenditures for $199.99, which is one penny under the amount at which a receipt is required.

    NYU Flags

Santos falselyclaimed that he went to New York University before admitting that he didn't go to college at all.

A graphic of an employee holding an ID badge.

Santos falsely claimed to have worked for Wall Street firms that he actually never worked at.

People jumping off a cliff in a graphic, suspended from a Pinoccio-type nose is a dollar sign that people cannot reach.

Santos did work for a company that U.S. regulators have called a Ponzi scheme.

    Africa graphic

In addition to falsely claiming he was Jewish, Santos said at one point that he was part Black.

A key on a home keychain.

Santos falselyclaimed to be the owner of multiple real estate properties when in fact he owns none, has been evicted multiple times, and recently lives with his sister.

a memorial at the Pulse nightclub.

Santos falselyclaimed that he had lost four employees in the 2016 Pulse Nightclub massacre.

    Yale and Harvard emblems

Santos falselyclaimed to have "slayed" Harvard and Yale's volleyball teams and needed double knee replacements to repair injuries he sustained during his athletic career.

    Spider Man on Broadway

Rep. George Santos falselyclaimed to have been a producer on the 2010 ill-fated Broadway production of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.
