The 40th anniversary of Capital City Pride in Des Moines, Iowa, produced an exciting weekend of events ranging from a Pride Fun Run, to Drag King DSM, to a performance by Kimbra, and a Pride Pet Parade! This year's events are especially important as they offered a chance for the Des Moines community, LGBTQ people, and allies to come together to show unity while celebrating the fantastic culture and successes that have been achieved throughout the last four decades.
