In a completely subjective selection, these are the photos from 2018 Pride that made us laugh, turned us on, and inspired us.

As you might imagine, Pride Season is busy here. We spend a few months leading up to June connecting with Pride committees all over the U.S. (and this year Mexico!) to arrange to have photographs taken. This is a great job because we get to talk to people from Alaska to Miami Beach. And they all have something in common: they are all very busy, they are all very nice, and they are all very helpful. We are grateful for that.
The photos we have chosen here we picked on instinct. Sometimes we were touched by the blush of sincere youth, other times we were inspired by seniors marching in the hot sun and holding feisty protest signs. Drag always gives everyone breathing room to remember to have fun. Of course, we also appreciate those folks who like to enjoy Pride season by sharing their wonderful physicality. Shame is so self-defeating.
There will be more Pride galleries to come as many folks schedule their celebrations after June, but we wanted to cap off the official end of Pride month with some visual inspiration. Thanks to all the committee members, photographers, media liaisons, and regular old volunteers who helped us this year and all the years before.
