A town in Ghana has banished two men for marrying last Sunday.
Ghana Nation reports on the fate of the couple, including Akwasi Boakye, 27, who was banished from Tafo in Kumasi. He "played the role of a woman and was wedded by his male partner, whose name was rumored as Kwame Amankwa" on Easter over the objections of the town chief, Nana Agyin Frimpong.
Sources said the wedding was held at the conference hall of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union, Kumasi branch.
"The wedding is said to have started around 10:00 p.m., on Sunday and lasted all night long, with hundreds of gays in attendance," reports Ghana Nation. "Sources continued that at the time Nana Frimpong was questioning Aboagye, his eye lashes, his beautiful acrylic finger nails and his make-ups were visible for everyone at the palace to see."
The whereabouts of the men were unknown as of Wednesday, with some speculating they had left for Accra.
