Don't mess with former West Point cadets -- especially when they're married to each other.

Daniel and Larry Lennox-Choate -- who made history by becoming the first male couple to wed at their alma mater, the West Point Military Academy, in 2013 -- were assaulted Sunday at a Manhattan newsstand.

The 40-year-old attacker began yelling antigay slurs at the pair in the SoHo neighborhood before punching Daniel in the face, reports the New York Daily News.

That man picked a fight with the wrong couple.

"He left covered in his own blood with his tail between his legs after I handled the situation and tossed him in the street like the coward loser he is," Larry recounted in a Facebook post.

"We refuse to be victims and are thankful we can defend ourselves, but are saddened by the fact that idiots like this guy might not pick two guys who went through Plebe Boxing next time," he added.

The New York Police Department has yet to make an arrest, and detectives are still searching for the attacker, who pedaled away on a bike. He was described as wearing a white T-shirt and carrying a black backpack, according to ABC News.

Daniel, 30, refused medical assistance after the attack. He served in Afghanistan and Iraq after graduating from West Point in 2007. His husband graduated in 2009.
