After a few days of rain (and partying), this month's 40th Gay Softball World Series finally got to throw its first pitch in Austin. The Division A match-up, for the most advanced players, slugged it out with the Houston Force coming in first and the Atlanta Elite taking home second place.

Sure, there was competition, but it was all in the name of sportsmanship and camaraderie. For the second year in a row, the World Series was sponsored by Nissan, which currently has a perfect 100 score on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index.
