Women at Risk to hold fund-raiser and awards benefit May 22 in Los Angeles
Women at Risk, an AIDS service organization providing emotional, psychosocial, and educational services to HIV-positive women, will present their "Angel Tribute Award" at the organization's seventh annual "Gospel Brunch Fund-raiser" on May 22 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, Calif. The award will be presented to actress Jasmine Guy, best known for appearing on the sitcom A Different World, for her continuing AIDS activism on behalf of African-Americans and women. The four "Gal Pals" from the hit Bravo show Queer Eye for the Straight Girl also will appear at the fund-raiser. The benefit event will include a private champagne reception and silent auction, in addition to the award presentation and the House of Blues' legendary Gospel Brunch. The event begins with a private reception at 1 p.m. at 8430 Sunset Blvd. Tickets are $65, $85, and $150, which includes the private reception.
