We asked the beautiful Manuel Moncayo to tell us a little about himself and his photography. Here is his response:
I was born in Mexico in 1989, now I live and work in Berlin.
Capturing beauty is my way to satisfy an urge to learn about the world. Beauty transcends human existence, and its past, present, and future all together.
The subjects of my affection are nudity and nature becoming one with the universe. I am also fascinated by human constructions because they stand still defying space and time.
I work with what I have and there is not much planning involved. I keep a photo diary, and I also work in a photo project with gay men. I feel a need to rediscover and re-describe the way in which society portrays us.
I am currently working on a photo documentation process of 10 gay guys in Berlin that will be consumated in an exhibition in 2016, It’s my most anthropological project so far.
On the first of December, my first photo book is going to be released, it’s entitled Guys, Light, and Nature from Bruno Gmünder.
You can see more of Moncayo's work at his Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook pages.
