Van Ness takes a Queer Eye to Nicki Minaj's appearance in a Russian magazine.

Television personality Jonathan Van Ness -- one of the "Fab Five" on Queer Eye -- criticized musical artist Nicki Minaj for appearing in a Russian magazine, given the country's treatment of its LGBT citizens. Van Ness said the interview should've been "a hard pass" because "Russia has anti-LGBTQIA propaganda laws, Chechnya supported by Russia tortures its LGBTQIA citizens, and with you're LGBTQ+ fans, you can't even speak to this in this interview because it's illegal in Russia."
