Evita is back — and it's as glittering as ever.
The glitzy Los Angeles queer party Evita has found a new home at Nightingale Plaza, a property owned by the SBE Entertainment Group, after taking a brief hiatus due to renovations at its former venue, Bootsy Bellows.
Cofounded by Oly Innes (Daddy Issues) and Andres Rigal (SummerTramp, Mr. Black), Evita celebrated its grand reopening Friday with a musical performance from heiress Daphne Guinness. Guests, many in drag or other various glittering garments, danced on a packed floor to DJ sets from Derek Monteiro and Lina Bradford.
"Nightingale is truly the glass slipper that we've been waiting for and we are so thrilled to bring our weekly queer bacchanal of flash, showing off, and carrying on to decadent music and unabashed dancing from the scene's best DJs," said Rigal. "Evita was born with SBE six years ago, and since then she has grown into an enormous, colorful and creative family. We cannot wait to bring her ... back home where it all started."
Evita will be held at SBE's Nightingale in West Hollywood, every Friday night with no cover.
