MSNBC.com's Jeannette Walls reports that Jerry Falwell and the Christian Film and Television Commission are on the warpath against the film Saved! and have threatened possible boycotts and protests. The dark comedy from out director Brian Dannelly tells the story of a student at a Christian high school whose friends turn on her after she becomes pregnant in an attempt to "save" her boyfriend from being gay. Rocker Michael Stipe, producer of the film, said, "It's like those monster-vampire-high school kind of movies, only here the monsters are Jesus-freak teenagers." Saved! has already racked up positive reviews following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival; the film opens in theaters May 28.
