The film Kinsey, written and directed by out filmmaker Bill Condon, will be the closing night feature at the Berlin International Film Festival in February, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed on Tuesday. The film festival ends on February 20, just one week before the Academy Awards show in the United States. Kinsey, which traces the life and accomplishments of 1940s and '50s sex researcher Alfred Kinsey (Liam Neeson), including his same-sex affair with a research associate (Peter Sarsgaard), has already earned Condon a nomination from the Writers Guild of America for his screenplay; the Oscar nominations will be announced on January 25. Kinsey, distributed by Fox Searchlight, was also selected by The Advocate as the best film of 2004.
