Strand Releasing has acquired North American distribution rights to the gay-themed Mexican film Broken Sky (El Cielo Divido) at the Berlin International Film Festival, reports indieWIRE.com. The new film by gay director Julian Hernandez tells the story of two passionate lovers whose relationship is challenged when each meets a new man. Strand released Hernandez's previous film, A Thousand Clouds of Peace, which won the Teddy award at the Berlin fest three years ago. A fall release is scheduled for Sky. (Advocate.com)
