Fans of Showtime's lesbian drama The L Word have a new way to find each other online. PlanetOut Inc. (parent company of The Advocate) and Showtime Networks announced Thursday a partnership that provides cobranded online personals geared specifically to women. Various links and promotional placements on Showtime's official The L Word Web site (www.sho.com/lword) will click through to the PlanetOut site (www.planetout.com/lword). "We're excited about teaming up with The L Word," said Anne Moellering, PlanetOut's vice president of U.S. marketing, in a statement. "We believe we can carry and grow this partnership through the launch of our new LGBT women's brand, currently scheduled for this summer." (Advocate.com)
