Advocate columnist on Desperate Housewives

Alec Mapa, The Advocate's Minority Retort columnist, will make an appearance as Vern on Desperate Housewives on an episode airing this Sunday. Vern is the personal shopper for Eva Longoria's character, Gabrielle.

In this week's episode Susan and Ian's relationship goes to the next level, Gabrielle takes a shot at training potential beauty queens, and Lynette is intrigued by a new neighbor. The show will air Sunday at 9 p.m. Eastern time. (The Advocate)
