Joan Rivers will star in her four-character autobiographical play, The Joan Rivers Theater Project, at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles this February. The comedic play, taking place just before a big awards preshow, uses a dressing room, a cheese plate, and a producer as vehicles for an introspective look at aging, going through life's ups and downs, and being a woman in Hollywood, according to a press release.
"I'm so thrilled to be doing the project at the Geffen. One, because it's a very prestigious and theatrically dedicated organization, and two, because they're paying me," said Rivers, who launched her comedy career in the '60s as one of the first female talk show hosts and has since risen to the rank of red-carpet royalty.
This will mark Rivers's third theatrical production, including her one-woman show, Broke and Alone, and her Tony-nominated performance in Sally Marr and Her Escorts. (The Advocate)
