Figure skating legend Dorothy Hamill threw a curveball Monday night when asked why it was nice to be a woman at the Good Housekeeping anniversary event in New York City.

Women including Hamill, Martha Stewart, and Michelle Trachtenberg attended, and the entertainment site Fox411.comasked them what was the most special thing about being a woman.

"If I hadn't been born a woman I would have certainly been gay," Hamill answered.

Asked why, she said, "Because I love sparkles and ruffles and color."
