John Waters Talks

Hairspray creator John Waters visited The Colbert Report and made waves with some of his shocking remarks.

According to The Huffington Post, Waters asked Colbert, "Wouldn't you rather your kid be a drug dealer than a drug addict?"

The filmmaker visited the show to promote his book, Role Models, and to discuss how he tries to be a role model.

Waters told Colbert he gave rat skeletons to children in a firs-grade class and asked the children to imagine they were in a plane crash.

He thinks young people should aspire to be different and find offbeat role models who aren't necessarily popular.
