Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz was spotted shopping at Target this weekend with his wife, singer Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, which could pose a problem for his image as an outspoken gay rights advocate.
According to E! Online, the couple was buying toys for their son, Bronx, at a Los Angeles area Target.
Trouble is, the Minnesota-based company is under fire for its $150,000 contribution to a conservative group that supports antigay gubernatorial contender Tom Elmer. Target refused to make an equivalent donation to gay rights groups when asked by the Human Rights Campaign. In response, HRC dropped Target and Best Buy, which also contributed to the group, from its annual Buyer's Guide.
E! Online reports that a representative for Wentz and Simpson-Wentz had no immediate comment.
