The Vaudevillians, a hit musical comedy featuring RuPaul's Drag Race season 5 winner Jinkx Monsoon, will return to New York City for a limited engagement.
The high-concept cabaret act stars Monsoon (Jerick Hoffer) and composer-musician Major Scales (Richard Andriessen) as coke-fueled chanteuse Kitty Witless and closeted husband Dr. Dan Von Dandy, old-timey 1920s vaudeville stars thawed out after being buried in an Antarctic avalanche.
A revised version of the show with new material thaws out again June 15-22 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, which precedes a three-month summer run at the Art House in Provincetown, Mass.
The Advocate named The Vaudevillians, which extended six times Off-Broadway last year, one of its top 10 LGBT-inclusive shows of 2013, calling it "as polished as a Lee press-on."
Monsoon's debut album, The Inevitable Album, is now available on iTunes.
