Who Are the Steamy Stars of Red, White, & Royal Blue, the R-Rated Gay Rom-Com?
Today is the day! Red, White, & Royal Blue has finally hit Prime Video.
The R-rated gay romantic comedy is based on the New York Times best-selling novel by Casey McQuiston. Red, White, & Royal Blue is directed by Tony Award-winning playwright Matthew López and co-written by him and Ted Malawer.
The film stars actors Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez as the leads. Zakhar Perez plays Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the President of the United States (Uma Thurman) whose feud with British Prince Henry (Galitzine) turns romantic — and steamy and sexy and dramatic and cute.
“Separated by an ocean, their long-running feud hasn’t really been an issue, until a disastrous—and very public—altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, driving a potential wedge in U.S./British relations at the worst possible time. Going into damage-control mode, their families and handlers force the two rivals into a staged ‘truce,’” the film’s description reads.
Taylor Zakhar Perez plays Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the first-ever female President of the United States, Ellen Claremont (played by Uma Thurman). Perez is best known for his roles as Shane on HBO Max's Minx and as Marco Valentin Pena in the two sequels of Netflix's The Kissing Booth. A Chicago native, he grew up in Indiana. He also made appearances in iCarly and Scandal.
Nicholas Galitzine is best known for playing Prince Robert on Amazon Prime Video's Cinderella adaptation. In Red, White, & Royal Blue, Galitzine plays Prince Henry Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor. The character, who's third in line to the British throne, falls in love with Alex over the course of the original novel. Other than Cinderella, Galitzine has appeared as Johnnie Blackwell in High Strung, Tom in The Beat Beneath My Feet, and Conor Masters in Handsome Devil.
