Twitter Celebrates Student Who Tricked Trumpers Into Sending Her Money

Quran, a young black woman who announced over Twitter that she was a Donald Trump supporter whose family had cut her off for her political beliefs, persuaded some Trump voters into donating to her via GoFundMe. The secret: It was all a scam.

Quran went so far to claim that her mother was kicking her out for being a Trump supporter, tweeting, "My mother literally woke me up out my sleep and screamed at me "how could you support this monster" she doesn't even know him so how can he be a monster."

Donations from Trump supporters came rolling in. Quran said she even bought an iPhone with the funds. But then she denounced Trump.

"I just felt really weird about taking their money. This could go south really fast, I just decided to refund everyone and give their money back. I think it was like maybe $200 at that point," Quran told New York Magazine.

However, that didn't stop the internet from singing her praises.
