Over the weekend, singer-songwriter Maggie Szabo and the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles performed "Don't Give Up" on the L.A. Pride mainstage. The Advocate premieres the music video for the song, which shares a message of hope and support, and Szabo tells why she wanted to work with the chorus.
"I am hyper-aware of the tragic and often times fatal circumstances that are all too common in the lives of the LGBTQ community," she says. "This tragedy is even more heightened when seeing beautiful trans kids struggling to find their way in a society that judges and shames them for trying to live an authentic life. I am honored to stand with the TCLA to show love and solidarity to anyone who is oppressed simply because they are struggling with their gender identity. "
