A Swedish gay rights group has announced plans to hold a gay pride parade in the hometown of the notoriously antigay Swedish pastor Ake Green, Radio Sweden reports. The Pentecostal pastor garnered international headlines last year with a sermon that referred to homosexuality as a sexual abnormality and a "tumor" on the body of society.

Green was prosecuted under Swedish laws on agitation against minority groups and was given a short jail sentence. He was later cleared on appeal to the country's high court.

Now the gay rights group RFSL will hold a festival in the pastor's hometown of Borgholm on the island of Oland. Priest Reine Medelius, one of the organizers, said that Borgholm is seen as the original town of prejudice and the group wants to change that perception. (The Advocate)
