Openly gay tennis superstar Amelie Mauresmo crushed her opponent in the opening round of Wimbledon on Wednesday.

Mauresmo, the world's number 1-ranked women's pro tennis player, beat Croatia's Ivana Abramovic in under 40 minutes. Mauresmo won every game in the match, beating Abramovic 6-0, 6-0.

Defending champion Venus Williams and former winner Maria Sharapova both won their first-round matches as well.

Mauresmo has repeatedly turned down requests for an interview with The Advocate. (The Advocate)
