The first South Asia LGBTI Partnership Building Workshop will be held September 3-4 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The first South Asia LGBTI Partnership Building Workshop will be held September 3-4 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The workshop is being organized by LLH Norway and Blue Diamond Society, Kathmandu, and it will take place at the Hotel Astoria in Lazimpat area of Kathmandu.
According to a press release announcing the workshop, "The aim of the workshop is to form partnership amongst South Asian LGBTI groups and communities, share experiences, learn form each other and support LGBTI movements in South Asia to advance our rights and ensure justice. We also aim to strengthen our knowledge in the field of South Asian social and cultural sexuality."
The workshop will focus on strengthening old and new LGBTI movements in South Asia. The primary workshop language will be English.
There have been successful LGBTI movements in some South Asian countries, and new groups are emerging that can contribute to South Asian activism. (The Advocate)
