In one of the year's more unusual casting announcements, Golden Globe winner and Milk star James Franco is heading to television -- daytime television.
The actor, who is pursuing his master's degree and is currently enrolled in an undergraduate queer cinema studies class at New York University, will commute to Los Angeles to tape scenes for the ABC soap General Hospital once a week.
According to reports, Franco will tape several shows in one day and will appear on the show regularly over the course of the next two months. News broke when his buddy Steve Burton, who stars on the show, tweeted that rumors about Franco coming to daytime were true.
A rep for the soap confirmed that Franco's first airdate is Monday, November 23.
