Gay activists in Albany on Tuesday showed they were prepared to follow
New York state senators, including their arch nemesis, Ruben Diaz Sr.,
all the way to
the men's room, if need be, to press their case for a vote on the
marriage equality bill.
Frustrated and angry advocates spent the better part of their time rallying in the hallways as the Democratic leadership debated whether to vote on the marriage equality bill. Ultimately, the senate leadership pledged to hold a vote at an undetermined time this year, as Gov. David Paterson announced late in the day.
