Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays has published a new guide to help health care providers offer services more effectively to LGBT patients.
"For many health care providers, it isn't a case of not wanting to be inclusive of GLBT patients, but rather a sense that it isn't an issue -- or, when it is, confusion around how to talk about it -- that gets in the way," Jody M. Huckaby, executive director of PFLAG, said in a press release.
The guide provides suggestions on how to create an LGBT-inclusive environment in a medical practice, along with sample intake forms and nondiscrimination policies, among other recommendations.
