Billy Bush on Pressuring Ricky Martin to Come Out

Access Hollywood host Billy Bush explained in a segment on Tuesday night's show that he'd asked Ricky Martin if he was gay in an interview almost seven years ago -- and Martin responded by walking off the set.

"I felt terrible," Bush said. "Truth be told, I let my ambition overshadow my sensitivity and judgment. I went for the big question. I had no idea it would be at the expense of Ricky's deepest feelings."

Bush says he went backstage to apologize to Martin in his dressing room, at which point the singer thanked him for not airing the segment and explained that he had just come off a two-year hiatus "spent largely trying to reconcile this part of his life."

Bush ended the segment by congratulating Ricky on coming out.
