A senior citizen in Cape Coral, Fla., is facing charges that she repeatedly harassed her gay neighbor and his 85-year-old mother.
Viola Heineman, 81, is accused of making several derogatory phone calls that "degraded the neighbor's son because he is gay and made comments about the sexual promiscuity of his elderly mother," according to WOAI News.
The mother and son told police that Heineman's calls were causing them to stay indoors out of fear for their safety. A victim's advocate then came to her house to explain different care options for her, but a disgruntled Heineman stormed out of the kitchen. When the victim's advocate attempted to continue the conversation, Heineman allegedly raised her metal cane over hear head and said, "I'm going to hit you with this" to the advocate. At that point, police officers arrested her.
Heineman has been charged with stalking and aggravated assault. She posted bond Thursday.
