A gay rights group in Oklahoma City will contact city officials about signs posted near its promotional banners. The fliers read "Repent," and the Cimarron Alliance Foundation, an LGBT organization, believes it is the target of the statement, reports KFOR News.
Some residents believe the message could be a generalized religious warning, but the Cimarron Alliance disagrees. The "Repent" signs were posted only on city poles also bearing Cimarron pride banners, which gay activists believe is an unlikely coincidence.
"There's a sadness in that for me because it's saying that for some
people, hatred remains a family or state value," said Cimarron executive director Scott J. Hamilton. "I don't believe that. I don't believe the
general public feels that way."
