In what could be a musical theater leek's wildest dreams, Ryan Murphy is one of four directors currently in discussions with Wicked producer Marc Platt to direct the film version of the popular musical.
Having already cast Wicked alumni Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth on Glee, the Murphy/Wicked stars seem to have already begun aligning.
The film adaptation is in the very early stages of production and no definite answers are coming in the near future.
"I think it's one of those things where they have invited some people to come in and give them their take, but they are in absolutely no hurry to get that movie made because the show is such a huge success," Murphy says.
In the meantime, Murphy says fans can look forward to a Britney Spears-themed episode of Glee next season.
