Former boxing champion James Toney has resorted to calling one of his
fellow pugilists "gay" after he and another boxer criticized Toney's
move from the world of boxing to mixed martial arts.
Toney is scheduled to debut in his first MMA competition on August 28 against UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture in Boston. British boxer David Haye said Toney's move was "delusional," and Bernard Hopkins said Toney will "get his ass kicked," according to Boxing Scene.
However, Toney told ESPN U.K., that he doesn't like "neither one of them anyway, so it don't matter. I don't care about the boxing community. I care about James Toney. It's about James Toney and Randy Couture. It's not about James Toney and boxing and James Toney and MMA. This is James Toney and Randy Couture, so for Bernard [Hopkins], he can go somewhere and get his damn teeth fixed. And David Haye, he's gay. I don't care about none of that. So they can just listen to all their bullshit."
