E! has canceled The Daily 10 less than a week after a guest host made on-air jokes about Adam Lambert's physical altercation with a photographer and how he might enjoy some time behind bars.

Filling in for Sal Masekela, co-anchor Michael Catherwood made the joke about Lambert, shocking host Catt Sadler. He later apologized, but complaints from viewers came to the network at a rapid-fire pace.

Masekela, reacting to the controversy, tweeted Monday, "@MCatherwood thanks for putting us on the map. Imagine if you'd actually said something truly offensive." After more complaints and death threats, Masekela announced on Twitter that The Daily 10 had been canceled after four years on the air.

E! News, hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic, will return as an hour-long show, according to Variety. It previously was a half-hour program preceding The Daily 10.
