Mommie Dearest author Christina Crawford discusses the story behind the decision of her adoptive mother, the late film icon Joan Crawford, to disinherit her and her brother in a new series airing tonight. In the debut episode of The Will: Family Secrets Revealed, Christina Crawford and her nephew Casey LaLonde tell differing stories about the star, who died in 1977 and left nothing to her two eldest adopted children, which inspired the nightmarish memoir and 1981 film, which has developed a cult following among gay audiences. The episode questions whether Christina wrote the book as an act of revenge or whether the allegations of abuse are true.
