Dave Karger, a senior writer for Entertainment Weekly, has been named replacement for the late Army Archerd as the official red carpet greeter and interviewer for the Academy Awards, according to The Wrap. Karger, who is gay, is considered one of the most reliable Oscar pundits in the industry and will interview nominees and presenters as they arrive Sunday night before they enter the Kodak Theatre.
When the arrivals end at 5 p.m., Karger will then begin cohosting Oscar.com's "All Access" coverage with Suzanne Whang.
