Gay Sauna Burns Down in London

A gay sauna burned down Sunday morning in Shoreditch in the London borough of Hackney. No serious injuries were reported but half the sauna's ground floor was destroyed.

According to the Hackney Gazette, "Chariots in Fairchild Street, which describes itself as 'the UK's largest and friendliest gay men's sauna,' had around half of its ground floor destroyed in the blaze which started around 6 am."

Some 150 patrons fled the fire, which required six fire engines and about 30 firefighters to bring under control within two hours.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
