Gay Republican presidential candidate Fred Karger met with GOP brass in Washington, D.C., this week, and he says he was greeted warmly.
The California-based gay rights activist, 61, met with Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus and RNC chief of staff Jeff Larson. Of Larson, Karger says, "He welcomed me with and said they would provide any of their facilities -- obviously they have to be neutral."
Karger is not new to GOP circles; he served as a senior campaign consultant with presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Gerald Ford.
