An antigay attack in the West Village of New York City over the weekend left a young man with a black eye and numerous stitches.
The New York Daily News reports on the confrontation that involved Damian Furtch, his friend, and two attackers at the McDonald's on Sixth Avenue early Sunday.
"He and a friend had just left their jobs at the nearby Pink Tea Cup Restaurant and were inside the McDonald's (below) when the two attackers started to harass them," reports the Daily News. "As they went back out to the street, the fists and the anti-gay epithets started to fly, Furtch told his boss later that day."
The friend was unharmed, but Furtch, 26, required stitches. He posted photos of his wounds on Facebook with the caption, "Four stitches, thanks bitches!"
Police are investigating the attack as a hate crime. No suspects have been apprehended.
