A YouTube video starring a purported American gay rights activist critical of a Gaza flotilla campaign is a hoax, The New York Times reports.
Though he identifies in the video as "Marc" and spoke out against the upcoming voyage of a flotilla of small ships soon leaving European ports to protest the Israeli blockade (novelist Alice Walker is among the participants), the man is actually a Tel Aviv actor named Omer Gershon. His identity was confirmed by the pro-Palestinian website Electronic Intifada, NYT reports.
In the past few weeks, several LGBT blogger-activists have turned out to be hoaxes, including the one behind A Gay Girl in Damascus and an editor at the website Lez Get Real.
