Stuart Milk, the nephew of Harvey Milk, has made a video urging San Francisco voters to elect Bevan Dufty (pictured) as mayor.
Dufty, a former member of the Board of Supervisors, is hoping to become the city's first openly gay mayor when voters pick a new leader in November. The Lower Haight resident and father of a 4-year-old has raised a million dollars and been endorsed by the Victory Fund. Now he has a relative of one of the world's most storied gay politicians on his side.
"I'm here to recruit you to support my friend Bevan Dufty," Milk says. "Putting Bevan Dufty into the mayor's seat in San Francisco reaches far beyond the shores of San Francisco, this reaches beyond California, this reaches across the nation."
