California: New Policy Regarding Trans Kids and Sports?

A bill amended by the California State Legislature could make it easier for transgender kids to play sports in school.

Ben Hudson, the Executive Director of Gender Health Center in Sacramento explained the measure to Fox40 News, saying, "This is about youth whose gender identity is outside of what their body is, so this allows them full access to sports and other sex-segregated activities inside of schools, which is important as they go through school."

Even though a hearing is scheduled in the upcoming weeks, the bill is not yet close to being signed into law.
