10. Sex Prank Drives Teen to Suicide
September 29: Rutgers University freshman Tyler Clementi is presumed to have killed himself by jumping off the George Washington Bridge after his roommate allegedly broadcast video of him having sex with another man on the Internet.
December 10: Bea Arthur served 30 months in the Marine Corps during World War II, driving a truck and working as a typist, according to website The Smoking Gun.
April 2: A patient with HIV remains free of the virus after receiving a stem cell transplant from a donor with a gene mutation that confers natural resistance to the virus that causes AIDS.
