Nonbinary Jury Duty star Marc-Sully St. Fleur loves 'the joy' PJ brings viewers

When it comes to hit series, it’s hard to think of a recent show (that doesn’t involve smooching hockey players) as beloved as Jury Duty.

This Prime Video mockumentary series took the world by storm with its rather simple premise: Put one non-actor into a mundane situation, create a fake world around them with actual actors doing the zaniest things possible, and see how they’ll react. The first season set in a courtroom proved how hilarious this setup can be, with the second going to a luxurious Company Retreat with a new protagonist and ensemble cast. This installment is already being lauded as one of the funniest shows of 2026 — and much of that is owed to its resident “snack expert,” Marc-Sully St. Fleur.

Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat sees St. Fleur as PJ, the bombastic receptionist who quickly bonded with the season’s “hero,” Anthony Norman, who believes he is a temp hired to assist in the company retreat of a company, Rockin’ Grandma’s Hot Sauce. Fans were instantly taken with PJ’s hilarious personality, one that is owed largely to Marc-Sully themself. As the nonbinary performer explained, “PJ is probably 80 percent of me.”

“[Production] told us to bring a lot of ourselves,” says St. Fleur when discussing how it felt to live as this new persona 24/7. “[So] I was bold…I needed to be authentically myself and true to who I am inside, because that is what I wanted people to see.” And it’s an authenticity that showed across the eight episodes, with Marc-Sully bringing not only their own wardrobe, but their campy sense of humor to the character.

They fully embodied PJ, but St. Fleur still tried to find a way to distance themselves from the acting work…and found a unique, edible way of doing so. “I didn't want to give all of me, because it is still an acting challenge — essentially, I [was] on RuPaul Drag Race! I needed to have things that were a little different for me. And, honestly, the snacks were something different for me.”

You can’t talk about Company Retreat without mentioning “PJ’s Snack Attack,” the online snack review show that St. Fleur’s character was trying to launch throughout the season. Within the first moments of this installment, fans learn about PJ’s goal of being an “exotic snack influencer,” with the series often cutting away to the many moments where Anthony joined PJ for these hilarious faux reviews.

“I'll be stopped by people in the street that want to immediately do a ‘Snack Attack’ with me! [Once,] this lady pulled out snacks from her purse and said, ‘You have to try these, and we're going to record it!’” Marc-Sully laughed, appreciative (if not slightly confused) by this new wave of fans who believe they’re actually snack-obsessed in real life. “The biggest thing for me is watching the joy [‘Snack Attack’] brings people…just to make people laugh and feel joy, especially at a time like this.”

It’s something that St. Fleur was very aware of, coming onto such a large project as a nonbinary person of color when those identities are being attacked daily. It’s why they were overwhelmed not only by the support of their co-stars, but the massive love people have for PJ, saying, “It makes me feel joy to know that as a queer, nonbinary, bigger body, dark-skinned person in a time like this — where it feels like all those things are literally trying to be pushed to the wayside — I’m being embraced.”

During a time when so much of onscreen representation consists of queer people facing bigotry, Marc-Sully was honored to remind everyone that LGBTQ+ folks can still have fun too! Through their shenanigans as PJ, they offered vital representation while still being the ball of well-dressed positivity they are in real-life. It’s what made Company Retreat such a special project for them, one that they know will have an immense impact on everyone watching it today.

“This is not the time to hide — it's the time to step forward. And I used my character to do that, because…because if I would have seen PJ onscreen when I was 11, then I'd be so much further along [in my journey] right now.”

It’s a beautiful authenticity that so many people need to see. And, through Marc-Sully St. Fleur’s time on Company Retreat, they’ll get to through Sia freakouts, jaw-dropping outfits, and, of course, nonstop snack attacks.
