It's as if we dreamed it back into existence. The revived classic magazine is more delightful and relevant than ever. Read more below.
Did Santa miss the mark for you this year? Well, treat yourself to the vintage (and modern) wonders of Bob Mizer's newly relaunched Physique Pictorial. After a 27-year hiatus, the Mizer Foundation brought the wildly popular publication back to life this fall -- enlarging the small quarterly into a 100-page guy-fest.
Highlights in the new Winter 2017 volume, for those with discriminating taste: full-color reproductions of never before seen photos from the foundation's archives as well as three portfolios from modern photographers who specialize in naked male beauty. There's also fascinating backstory on Mizer himself in the current volume, plus writer John Calendo's roguish recounting of his days cruising San Diego sailors back in the '80s.
You will kick yourself in a few years that you didn't get these early issues of the reboot. So go here now. And read the story of these two (sexy) heros who slaved over photos and typography to revive this classic.
