    Cleonette Harris

Cleonette Harris jolts us awake to the electric night with "Neon Paradise Los Angeles," her vibrant solo exhibition at Last Projects. Harris is a photographer first but also a club promoter of the Los Angeles queer, femme, and trans party, Club Clit. Harris employs her night muses -- drag performers, musicians, fashion designers, DJs, and photographers -- to interplay with the iconic neon signs of Hollywood. Harris's models, like the neon signs themselves, might be overlooked during the day, but at night they shine.

Along with Harris's friends and acquaintances in Los Angeles art scene she also works in collaboration with her long term girlfriend/fashion designer, Eileen O'Brien, whose brand, L.O.C.A., stands for L.O. Class Art, a title that pays tribute to the underdog artists of our society, with an extreme emphasis on accentuating the feminine form. She finds inspiration from classic showgirls, glitz, glamour, and vinyl fetish wear. You will find her fashions throughout the body of Cleo's work.
