Chad Schuld seems to innately tease out the mythic, larger-than-life qualities of the people he photographs.
"I've always seen a different visual perspective within my subjects," photographer Chad Schuld says. "Call it depth, or having interest in your subject. To me it's way more than that. Growing up in a small town in Wisconsin, the need to flourish as an artist was extremely limited. In high school, I learned the ways of the dark room and film manipulation before associating with the digital world. Many garages, basements, and living room walls later, I ended up where I am now. Photography to be therapeutic for me, and hopefully to whomever I have the pleasure to work with. As I expand my portfolio, I continue to strive to do new things with my work to help grow myself as a photographer. If I wanted my viewers to take anything away from my work, I'd have to say: hope. You may live in a world that seems very dark and dimly lit, but shadows are shadows and lights are lights. They all seem to hug us tightly no matter the time of day."
