The recent Supreme Court ruling in favor of a Colorado baker who denied a same-sex couple a wedding cake was smothered over with rainbows, glitter, and Pride flags this weekend in Denver. Read more below.
Denver kept the issues front and center with Parade grand marshals Charlie Craig and David Mullins -- the couple denied the wedding cake by Masterpiece Cakeshop in 2012.
The first Denver PrideFest occurred in 1976, the same year the local community center was founded. The event currently consists of a two-day festival at Civic Center Park, the Big Gay 5K, and culminates with a parade along Colfax Avenue. Denver PrideFest now draws 375,000 guests annually, making it the third largest Pride festival and seventh largest Pride Parade in the United States.
