In it\u2019s ninth year, this Pride celebration already draws about 13,000 people.

"We are one of the top five festivals in smaller metropolitan areas," Lonzo Smith, the president of Augusta Pride, told The Augusta Chronicle about the celebration at the end of June.

The event, the largest in Georgia outside Atlanta, brings about $1.3 million to the city. Each year, the party has a theme of one of the colors of the rainbow -- this year's party is yellow (bright and festive!).
